It is forbidden for a man to shave his beard or shorten it, and a believer must submit to the command of Allah and His Messenger. It is not permissible for a wife to ask her husband to shave his beard or shorten it, because that is an invitation to disobedience. She should accept this with an open heart, for compliance with the contains goodness. Moreover, the husband should attend to his adornment for his wife in a manner appropriate for men.
