Is it permissible for a wife to ask her husband to shave his beard, claiming it is unattractive and unkempt, and would the wife be sinful if she asked for that?

It is forbidden for a man to shave his beard or shorten it, and a believer must submit to the command of Allah and His Messenger. It is not permissible for a wife to ask her husband to shave his beard or shorten it, because that is an invitation to disobedience. She should accept this with an open heart, for compliance with the Sharia contains goodness. Moreover, the husband should attend to his adornment for his wife in a manner appropriate for men.
