Is sitting in a coffee shop unlawful, even without smoking and with friends present?

The predominant characteristic of the aforementioned place (the coffee shop) is that it contains reprehensible acts, such as smoking, and perhaps even hashish, and the intermingling of men and women. Accordingly, it is not permissible to sit there, for the one who sits silently condones the reprehensible act and is pleased with it. He may also fall into the same forbidden acts that others have committed. Most of the frequenters of these places are people with idle time and bad morals. It is obligatory to invest one's life in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds before regretting it on the Day of Judgment.
