What should I do concerning a vow to circumambulate the Sacred Mosque one hundred times in one day; is it obligatory to fulfill it, or is expiation due?
A Muslim must fulfill the vows of obedience they have made, as Allah the Almighty says: ("And let them fulfill their vows") (Quran 22:29), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him." Since circumambulating the Sacred House (Tawaf) is an act of obedience, the woman who made the vow must complete what she vowed, which is one hundred circuits. This means fourteen complete circumambulations, with each circumambulation consisting of seven circuits, plus an additional five circuits to complete the fifteenth circumambulation. If she finds difficulty in performing them all at once, she may perform them separately. If she is completely unable to perform the circumambulation, then she must offer an expiation for breaking an oath.
