Is it permissible for a wife to pray and have intercourse with her husband if menstrual bleeding continues intermittently after purification for several days, possibly exceeding a week?

If a woman has a monthly period and then purifies, and then experiences intermittent bleeding before fifteen days have passed since her purification, this blood is not considered menstruation but rather irregular bleeding (dam fasad). It does not prevent her from praying, fasting, or engaging in intercourse, based on the statement of Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her): "We did not consider the yellowish or brownish discharge after purification to be anything." However, if her bleeding becomes intermittent during her usual cycle, and she experiences alternating periods of menstruation and purity, then refer to Fatwa No. 36611.
