The question

Is it permissible for a young man to marry a girl who sets academic, professional, and residential conditions that contradict his mother's wishes, and does he have the right to prevent her from studying or compel her to live in the village after marriage, given the conflict between his wishes and his mother's wishes regarding these matters?

The answer

It has been previously explained that marrying a specific girl without the parents' consent is impermissible. The mother has a great right, which necessitates honoring her and treating her with kindness. Therefore, it is recommended to strive to gain her approval and not to defy her concerning marriage to this girl. There are many other religious and beautiful women. Perhaps by gaining her approval, Allah Almighty will facilitate the matter. If the mother agrees to the marriage with this girl, then it is obligatory to fulfill the conditions she stipulated, such as completing studies, residing in the city, and other similar conditions, as long as they do not lead to a Shariah prohibition.
