Is it permissible to perform a special prayer for the purpose of seeing the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a dream?

It is not permissible to innovate any act of worship for which there is no scriptural basis, for the religion has been perfected. There is no evidence for a specific prayer to see the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in a dream. And whoever innovates in the religion something that is not part of it, it is rejected.
