Why does God grant victory to hypocrites and increase them in wealth and pride in this world, while He only grants victory to His righteous servants and strengthens their hearts in the Hereafter?

The Muslim is victorious in this world and the hereafter, and his victory does not necessitate that he be given anything of the transient things of this world. Indeed, his deprivation may be a divine grace from Allah, for giving him these things might harm him. Allah's blessing in what He withheld from the Muslim of this world is greater than His blessing in what He bestowed upon him. And it is not necessary that the giving of something of this world to a disbeliever or a wicked person be a grace for him. The greatest victory is Allah's granting the Muslim success in adhering steadfastly to his religion, and his sincerity and excellence in his work, for he will find its good consequences in this world and the hereafter. We advise the Muslim to lighten the matter for himself, and to exert the permissible means to obtain his right, while being certain that whatever Allah has decreed will reach him. Hypocrisy is not necessary to obtain one's right; rather, one can use tact with gentleness and a good approach without lying.
