Is it permissible to sell halal food products to shops, restaurants, or hotels that sell or serve alcoholic beverages?

It is not forbidden to sell permissible (halal) goods to shops and restaurants that might sell forbidden (haram) items, as this does not involve direct engagement in the forbidden or direct assistance with it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions interacted with Jews and polytheists, even though they did not abstain from forbidden things.

The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America concluded that assisting in sin falls into four categories: 1. Direct and intentional: Such as giving alcohol with the intention of assisting in its consumption. 2. Direct and unintentional: Such as selling forbidden items that have no permissible use, without the intention of assisting in their forbidden use. 3. Indirect and intentional: Such as giving money to purchase alcohol. 4. Indirect and unintentional: Such as selling something that can be used for both permissible and forbidden purposes without the intention of assisting in the forbidden, or giving money to purchase something permissible which is then used for something forbidden.

The Assembly prohibited the first three categories and permitted the fourth.
