We ask Allah to make this affliction an increase in good deeds and an expiation for sins. The man and woman who were good to you will be rewarded, but they are not considered parents to whom full parental rights are due, and adoption is forbidden and invalid. The right of the husband takes precedence over the right of the parents. You are not obligated to visit the woman's husband, nor does he have the right to be angry with you for not visiting. If you do visit him, you must adhere to the hijab and avoid being alone with him.
