Is the failure to visit one's father due to the husband's circumstances, and merely maintaining contact with the mother, considered a shortcoming in one's duty toward the father, especially given the father's ill-treatment and the daughter's fear of him, knowing that the daughter is committed to prayer and fasting, guards her chastity, and obeys her husband?
Allah has made it obligatory upon a wife to obey her husband. It is his right that she obey him in matters that do not involve disobedience (to Allah), and that she safeguard his honor and his property. She should not leave his house except with his permission, even to visit her parents, for obedience to the husband is obligatory. Nevertheless, a husband should not prevent his wife from visiting her parents, as this leads to the severance of ties and may compel the wife to disobey. The husband should honor his wife and treat her kindly.
As for the questioner's father, she should be patient with him and strive to please him, avoiding anything that displeases him. She should not abandon him and should endure his mockery. Allah has enjoined good treatment of parents, and her patience in this regard will increase her goodness and elevate her status. As for a father mocking his daughter, this is not permissible and contradicts good manners.
