What should I do if my wife hates me?

The occurrence of hatred between spouses is natural, and patience and understanding are necessary for marital life to be stable. Allah Almighty said: "And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought." To address a wife's hatred, it is recommended to treat her well, be gentle with her, and frequently supplicate for her righteousness, and advise her regarding your right over her. If her situation does not improve thereafter, then she is disobedient (nashiz).
