What is the ruling on dirt found on eggs, and is it considered pure or impure?

Chicken droppings (feces and excrement on eggshells) are considered pure by the majority of jurists. However, it is recommended to wash them to avoid differing opinions and because they are repulsive. The urine and dung of an animal whose meat is permissible to eat are considered pure by the majority. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the permissibility of praying in sheep pens, with the exception of Imam Al-Shafi'i. And if it is held that the droppings of an animal whose meat is permissible to eat are impure, the eggs are not defiled by them, nor are eggs defiled if boiled in impure water.
