Is it true that the excrement and urine of animals whose meat is permissible to eat, such as birds, sheep, cattle, and goats, are pure, and a small amount of them does not invalidate the prayer, whereas the urine and feces of humans, pigs, and animals whose meat is not permissible to eat are impure? The jurists have agreed on the impurity of the urine and droppings of animals whose meat is not eaten. However, they have differed concerning the urine and droppings of animals whose meat is eaten. The Shafi'is and Hanafis consider them impure, while the Malikis and Hanbalis consider them pure. Scholars have also differed regarding the turtle. A group has permitted eating it, based on the generality of Allah's Almighty saying: "Lawful to you is the pursuit of game from the sea and its food." The most preponderant opinion is that the turtle is among animals whose meat is eaten, and that its urine, droppings, and whatever originates from it are pure, whether it is terrestrial or marine.
