Does the Almighty’s saying: {You will not attain piety until you spend from that which you love} mean donating new clothes and using old ones as a form of spiritual struggle?

It is true that charity should be given from what one loves, as Abu Talhah did when he gave in charity his most beloved property, which was "Bayruha," in emulation of Allah's saying: {You will not attain piety until you spend from that which you love}. Al-Tabari interpreted this verse to mean: You will not attain Paradise until you give in charity from what you love and desire to keep from your most precious possessions. Giving in charity from what a person loves falls under many categories.
