Is it permissible for a woman to serve male guests in the presence of her husband, following the example of the Mother of Believers?

There is nothing definitively established regarding the Mothers of the Believers serving male guests. The hadith of Umm Usayd al-Sa'idiyah, who offered dates and drink to her husband's guests, including the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is interpreted in two ways: either it was before the فرض (imposition) of the hijab, or it was after, but with complete covering and the absence of any fear of fitnah (temptation). Scholars emphasize the necessity for a woman to be completely covered and to avoid any khalwah (private seclusion) or mixing with male guests. They also state that it is impermissible for a woman to uncover her face in front of them or to sit with them. It is more likely that a woman's serving of guests should only occur when necessary; otherwise, it is preferable for the man to serve his guests himself or through his sons. This is more befitting of the rulings of Islamic law and purer for the hearts.
