Is there a hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari that permits a married woman to enter, while wearing her hijab, upon men whom her husband has invited to serve them food?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Bukhari and Muslim reported that Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi invited the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to his wedding, and his wife at that time was their servant and she was the bride. Al-Nawawi mentioned that this was before the hijab, while Ibn Hajar said that the hadith indicates the permissibility of a wife serving her husband and those he invites, provided there is no fear of temptation (fitna) and modesty is observed.
