What is the ruling on voting for a person who lacks credibility or competence merely due to personal acquaintance or their request?

Voting for a person for a position or an award is a testament and an endorsement from the voter, and the voter is accountable for it before Allah. Therefore, one should not cast their vote except for someone whom they know to be the most righteous and most competent. If one nominates someone who is not qualified out of personal acquaintance or request, then this is considered a lie, betrayal, and false testimony.
