What is the ruling regarding a wife remaining with a husband who accuses her of infidelity with her mahrams, insults her family, commits adultery with his mahrams, does not pray, drinks alcohol, watches pornography, and lies, in addition to insulting her and slandering her honor? And should she sever her ties with her family to appease him?
If the husband persists in reprehensible acts and bad morals despite attempts to reform him, the solution is to separate from him through divorce or khul'. Divorce is not always evil; rather, it may be good for both spouses, in accordance with His, the Almighty's, saying: ﴿And if they separate, Allah will enrich each of them from His abundance.﴾ [Quran 4:130]. Divorce may be one of the greatest blessings that liberates both spouses.
