Is the 'Isha' prayer valid if I performed it after the expiration of the period for wiping over the socks, knowing that I was in a state of purity when I first wiped and before the period expired?

Scholars have differed regarding the commencement of the period for wiping over the khuffayn (leather socks) and what becomes necessary when this period expires. Al-Nawawi favored the view that if someone's period of wiping ends while they are still in a state of tahara (purity), their tahara remains valid, and their wudu (ablution) is not nullified. Thus, they may pray as long as they do not invalidate their wudu. This is also the chosen view of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Uthaymeen, due to the absence of any legal evidence indicating that wudu becomes invalid upon the expiry of the wiping period.
