For a resident, wiping over the khuff begins from the first hadath (invalidation of ablution) after wearing them, and extends to the same time on the following day. So, if ablution is invalidated at 6:00 AM after wearing them, it is permissible to wipe until 6:00 AM on the following day. If the first hadath after wearing them occurs later, it is permissible to wipe until the time of that first hadath on the following day. However, if the first hadath occurred before the Fajr prayer and one wiped on the following day before the time of the hadath from the previous day, then their prayer is valid. The prayer would be invalid if one wiped on the following day after the time of the first hadath following the wearing of the khuff. A resident can pray more than five prayers with the khuff, as the timeframe is twenty-four hours (a day and a night) and not limited to five prayers, and the timeframe begins from the first act of wiping after the hadath.
