Learning the science of Hadith requires a proficient shaykh; merely relying on books is insufficient to avoid errors. The student of Hadith must be well-versed in the rules of the Arabic language and progress gradually in learning, starting with concise texts, then intermediate ones, and finally comprehensive works. The science of Hadith is not specific to any particular madhhab. If the questioner wishes to gain understanding (fiqh) based on the evidences of the Maliki madhhab, they can study the book Al-Muwatta.
