Is it true that looking at the world is like worship?

Looking at the world, in the sense of contemplating Allah's creations and using them to infer His greatness, is an act of worship that increases faith and perfects certainty. This is urged by verses of the Quran, such as: "Say, 'Travel through the land and observe how He began creation'" (29:20), and "Do they not look at the camels—how they are created?" (88:17), and "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day are signs for those of understanding" (3:190). This is further confirmed by observing the circumstances of past nations for admonition, as stated in His saying: "Then see how was the end of their plot" (27:51). As for looking for pleasure and entertainment, it is permissible on condition that it does not distract from an obligation or lead to something unlawful.
