If an orphan reaches puberty and becomes mature (رشيد), Zakat becomes obligatory upon him without dispute, provided his wealth reaches the nisab and a full year (hawl) has passed. However, if the orphan has not reached puberty, the correct view is that his guardian is commanded to disburse Zakat from his wealth if it reaches the nisab and a full year has passed over it.
