The answer

If the mother only intended and spoke to herself about her son's death, there is no blame upon her, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my nation what they speak to themselves about, as long as they do not act upon it or utter it." However, if she supplicates for his death, then it is impermissible, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not supplicate against yourselves, and do not supplicate against your children..." The expiation for this sin is seeking forgiveness, repentance, and regret. Mothers must avoid supplicating against their children.
