Did his mother's prayer against her son cause his death, and what are the implications of that?

The supplication of parents is answered. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade supplicating against oneself, one's children, or one's wealth. The mother must feel complete remorse and offer sincere repentance, and learn from the experience by never supplicating against her children again.
