What is the commentary of early and later scholars on what Imam Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Sarakhsi mentioned in his book Al-Mabsut regarding the Hadith of the slave girl, "Where is Allah?" And is this statement considered evidence for the Hadith's lack of authenticity or its failure to indicate the affirmation of direction for Allah?

In response to Imam al-Sarakhsi's statement deeming the Hadith (definition) of the slave girl weak, claiming it contains problematic wording and that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would not ask anyone to affirm a direction or place for Allah:

Firstly: Al-Sarakhsi did not explain his reason for deeming the hadith weak, and he has little knowledge of hadith.

Secondly: The hadith is authentic and well-established, validated by Muslim and the majority of scholars. It is not permissible to accept Al-Sarakhsi's opinion over the authentication of these scholars.

Thirdly: The hadith is supported by sound Quranic texts and authentic Prophetic hadiths that affirm Allah's transcendence (uluw).

Fourthly: The terms "direction and place" are innovated. If Al-Sarakhsi intended to deny that anything encompasses Allah, then his meaning is correct. However, if he intended to deny Allah's transcendence (uluw), then his statement is invalid.
