Is it permissible to pray in a corner of a residential building, above which lives a Christian and another who sells alcohol?

The preponderant opinion is that it is permissible to build above mosques, and prayer in a mosque that has a building above or below it is valid without dispute. Prayer in a zawiya (prayer corner/small mosque) is permissible, and it does not matter if those living above the mosque are disobedient or polytheists, for the entire earth is a mosque except for graveyards and bathrooms, and prayer is permissible in every spot where it has not been forbidden.
