Is it permissible for a man to have anal intercourse with his wife if he fears falling into zinā (unlawful sexual intercourse) should his wife refuse him that?
Anal intercourse is forbidden and considered a grave sin, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Cursed is he who has intercourse with a woman in her anus." The wife is not permitted to agree to this, and she may seek divorce if the husband insists. As for approaching the wife from behind in the vagina, there is no harm in it, as long as it is in the place of childbirth, due to the Almighty's saying: "Your women are a tilth for you," and Ibn Abbas's statement: "The tilth is the place of childbirth, and the meaning of His saying 'however you wish' means in whatever manner you wish, front or back, in one orifice," which is the vagina. The questioner must not contemplate adultery, and must not use what is forbidden as a means to what is forbidden.
