Will the Muslim who limits his prayers to Friday enter Heaven, and if he enters Hell, will he exit it after being purified?

Prayer holds a great status in Islam, and it is the first act of a Muslim that will be scrutinized. There is a severe warning for those who neglect or are negligent in their prayers, as Allah Almighty says: "So woe to those who pray [But] who are heedless of their prayer" and His saying: "Then succeeded them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil."

One who abandons prayer while denying its obligation is a disbeliever by consensus. As for one who abandons it out of laziness, scholars have differed concerning him. Some said that he is a disbeliever, and this is supported by the apparent meanings of the evidence. According to this view, if a person who abandons prayer dies, he will not enter Paradise nor will he exit Hellfire. However, according to the majority of scholars, if he dies upon the testimony of monotheism, he will not remain eternally in Hellfire, but rather he will stay there for as long as Allah wills, and then his ultimate destination will be Paradise.
