Is it permissible to marry a righteous young man if his father takes bribes?

If a young man proposes to you and you are satisfied with his religious commitment and character, there is no impediment to your marriage to him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If someone whose religious commitment and character you approve comes to you, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption." What you heard about his father does not affect his eligibility for marriage, for "no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." You must also have a good opinion of him. However, be diligent in ensuring that he spends on you from lawful earnings.
