The answer

It is not permissible to ask created beings about the unseen, because it is something Allah has exclusive knowledge of. And whoever asks soothsayers and diviners has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad. It is not permissible to supplicate to other than Allah, as that is major shirk (polytheism). It is permissible to ask other than Allah about matters not exclusive to Allah's knowledge, such as asking the people of remembrance (scholars). Allah may inform some of His saints about a part of the unseen, but this is neither continuous nor by the will of the saint, and a saint's claim to know the unseen is disbelief.
