What is the ruling on pondering, discussing, delving deeply into unseen matters, and raising questions about them (seeking their reality)?

The unseen can only be known through scriptural texts, and there is no harm in inquiring about what is mentioned therein. However, striving to comprehend it through rational conjectures or future predictions, or striving to comprehend what cannot be comprehended, such as the modalities of Allah's attributes, is forbidden and dangerous. A Muslim must desist from this and focus on reforming themselves and their society according to what Allah has legislated, pondering over the texts of the two revelations (Quran and Sunnah), implementing the divine commands, and avoiding argumentation without knowledge. Al-Tahawi said: "Knowledge is of two kinds: knowledge that exists among creation, and knowledge that is absent from creation. Denying the existing knowledge is disbelief, and claiming the absent knowledge is disbelief."
