How sound is the Hadith: "Seven will be shaded by Allah on the Day of Resurrection, and He will neither purify them nor gather them with the worlds, but will cast them into the Fire among the first to enter: he who marries his hand (masturbates), the active and passive partners in sodomy, the habitual drunkard, he who beats his parents until they cry for help, he who harms his neighbors until they curse him, and he who marries his neighbor's wife"? And who narrated it?

The text of the hadith in question is: "Seven types of people Allah will not look at on the Day of Judgment, nor gather them with the worlds, and He will admit them into Hell among the first to enter, unless they repent: He who marries his hand (masturbates), the one who commits sodomy and the one upon whom it is committed, the habitual drunkard, he who strikes his parents until they cry for help, he who harms his neighbors until they curse him, and he who marries his neighbor's wife." This hadith was narrated by Al-Bayhaqi, Al-Azdi, Al-Daylami, and Ibn Al-Jawzi, who said: "This hadith is not authentic." Also, Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir said: "This hadith is gharib (odd) and its chain of narration contains unknown individuals due to their obscurity." There is a confusion between this hadith and the hadith "Seven whom Allah will shade on the Day of Judgment," which was narrated by the two Shaykhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
