Will I not be held accountable in the Hereafter if the torment of the grave ceases?

The bliss of the people in the graves is everlasting and uninterrupted. As for the torment, it is of two types: perpetual for disbelievers and some disobedient Muslims, and interrupted for some disobedient Muslims whose sins are minor. It may also cease due to Allah's forgiveness or due to charity and supplication. In Sharh al-Tahawiyyah (Commentary on al-Tahawiyyah), it states: "The torment of the grave is of two types: perpetual, as in the case of the people of Pharaoh, and interrupted for some disobedient Muslims." Ibn Uthaymeen said: "The torment of the disbeliever is continuous, whereas the believer is tormented according to his sins, and his torment may be interrupted."
