Does the guardianship of a man who tried to assault his daughter twice while fully conscious lapse?

This father has reached an animalistic level due to his lack of values. The daughter should not respond to his whims and should act on her own behalf as much as she can. She should not be alone with him and should inform her relatives or report the matter to the authorities if he does not desist. As for the nullification of his guardianship due to his فسق (open sinfulness), scholars have differed on this. The majority are of the opinion that it is not nullified, while Al-Shafi'i held that it is. The more preponderant view is that فسق does not nullify guardianship unless it is linked to betrayal of the one being guarded, in which case the guardianship of the dissolute father over his daughter is nullified, unless he repents.
