The answer

Al-Harawi mentioned that patience has three degrees: patience from disobedience by contemplating the threat of punishment or out of shyness, patience in obedience by constantly maintaining it with sincerity and improvement, and patience during tribulations.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said that patience is of three types: patience by Allah (seeking His aid), patience for Allah (out of love and desire for His countenance), and patience with Allah (following His religious will and rulings).

Patience is to faith as the head is to the body; there is no faith for one who has no patience. Umar said: "The best life we attained was through patience." And in the : "Patience is a light," and "Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for all his affairs are good for him... if adversity befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." Patience is mentioned in the Qur’an in ninety places, and it is obligatory by the consensus of the Ummah, and it is half of faith.
