Does the son who obeyed his father by boycotting his friend, who betrayed him for over a year, fall under the Hadith: "Whoever does not speak to his brother for three days"?

Abandoning a friend for more than three days without a legitimate reason is not permissible. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar narrated from Al-Hafiz Ibn Abd al-Barr that abandoning someone for more than three days is not permissible except for one who fears that speaking to them will corrupt their religion or cause them harm. Ibn Battal defined abandonment as ceasing to speak and exchange greetings (salam) between Muslims. It is obligatory to end this abandonment by offering greetings (salam), speaking, and seeking forgiveness. It is more prudent to restore matters to their previous state, but if you fear your father's anger, then merely offering greetings (salam) may suffice.
