Is the expiation for making up missed fasts repeated with the repetition of years?

According to the Shafi'is, the fidyah (expiatory feeding) recurs with the recurrence of Ramadans, and this is the more correct view. However, it is not their madhhab (school of thought) to give the monetary value. The fatwa (religious edict) we adopt is that the fidyah does not recur; rather, only one fidyah is required. If the delay was due to ignorance of the prohibition of delaying, then no fidyah is required at all.
