Is it better to donate my deceased brother's clothes as charity, or to wear them?
We hope for mercy and forgiveness for your brother, and we ask Allah that he be among those mentioned in the hadith: "Indeed, a man may perform the deeds of the people of the Fire until there is nothing between him and it except a cubit, then the decree overtakes him, and he performs the deeds of the people of Paradise, so he enters Paradise." If you have taken possession of the clothes, they are your property, and you may give them in charity on behalf of your brother. If you have not taken possession of them, they are part of the inheritance for the heirs, and they can be given in charity if the heirs relinquish them and are adult and of sound mind.
