Are weather forecasts considered Islamically sound, and what is the ruling on believing in them?

Allah created the universe with a precise system that indicates His oneness and wisdom. The meteorologists' announcement of the time of an eclipse is not knowledge of the unseen (Ghaib); rather, it is based on possible calculations, as Allah Almighty says: (It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a [reflected] light and determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and [of] calculation) and (The sun and the moon [move] with calculation).

Much of what meteorologists report is based on conjecture and speculation, as the exact time of rainfall cannot be known, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The keys to the unseen are five, which no one knows except Allah: No one knows what will happen tomorrow except Allah; no one knows what the wombs conceal except Allah; no one knows when the rain will come except Allah; no soul knows in what land it will die; and no one knows when the Hour will be established except Allah."
