The answer

Before advising the father, we advise the daughters regarding their elderly father to be dutiful and obedient to him, and to spend on him if he does not have money, and to be patient with any harm from him, and to speak gently with him even when offering advice. And we say to the father: Maligning a Muslim is not permissible except with certainty and clear evidence. So, do not harbor such ill suspicions about your wife and daughters, and fear Allah concerning them, and do not oppress them, for Allah has enjoined good treatment of them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Treat women well." And in another narration: "Indeed, I make it a grave sin for you to neglect the rights of the two weak ones: the orphan and the woman."
