What is the religious ruling regarding a mother who stole money from her daughter and her husband, and what should the husband do?

If it is confirmed that the woman stole money from her daughter's husband, she must repent and return the money to its owner, because it is an unlawful encroachment on others' property. Allah says: "And do not consume one another's property unlawfully" (Quran 2:188), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honor."

Her daughter should advise her respectfully and politely, being careful not to disclose the secret. If she does not respond, it is advisable for the son-in-law to forgive his mother-in-law, especially if the amount of money is trivial. This fosters discretion, appeases his wife and children, and closes the door to family disputes.
