What is the ruling on owning comic magazines such as "Basem," "Sinan," and "Majid"?

It is not permissible to keep magazines that contain pictures of animate beings if the purpose of keeping them is the pictures themselves, or if they contain pictures of women. Pictures of women must be completely defaced, as well as the heads of other animate beings. However, if the magazines are kept to benefit from their scientific content, it is permissible after defacing the pictures. If the photographs are not of women and are not the reason for purchasing the magazine, some scholars permit keeping them due to the difficulty of defacing them.
