The correct view among scholars is that it is permissible to repeat in the same year, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Umrah to Umrah is an expiation for what is between them." There is no harm in repeating Umrah for a deceased parent. However, it is better for a person to perform deeds for themselves and dedicate supplications and charities to the deceased, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge from which others benefit, and a righteous child who supplicates for him."
