Can supplicating against those oppressors who use magic against me and my children be a reason for my supplications not being answered?

The answer

The swiftness of answered prayers and the veracity of dreams are signs of goodness, and the reason for this, as stated in the Qudsi, is drawing closer to Allah through supererogatory acts (Nawafil).

Dismiss the idea that your supplications against oppressors are the cause of the sweetness of prayer departing; such supplications are permissible.

The reasons for this (change) might be your residing in a place where people commit sins, or your committing a sin that you did not consider significant, or that Allah willed to save for you a greater reward, or He willed that you not become boastful due to what you previously experienced.

Your obligation is to adhere to Allah's commands and prohibitions, and to persevere in supererogatory acts, remembrance (dhikr), and supplication (du'a), for in this there is much good, regardless of truthful dreams or answered prayers.
