Is there any prohibition for a wife to remain with her husband who only approaches her every 4 or 5 months, knowing that he has a medical condition preventing him from doing so, and is the waiting period (iddah) obligatory for her if a divorce occurs?

There is no objection to a woman remaining with a husband who does not fulfill her right to enjoyment if she is content with that, such as if he has a defect that prevents marital intimacy. However, if she is not content, she has the right to annul the marriage, provided that she was unaware of the defect before the contract or did not consent to it afterwards. If she consented to the defect, she has no option but patience or to seek khul’. If divorce occurs after a legitimate khalwa (definition), the ’iddah (definition) is established.
