Is it permissible to state the deserved salary instead of the current salary when applying for a new job, especially since the determination of the new salary depends on the current salary?

It is impermissible to lie when answering a Muslim's question about their salary, due to the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: "The signs of a hypocrite are three: whenever he speaks, he lies; whenever he promises, he breaks his promise; and whenever he is entrusted, he betrays his trust." If one fears harm from disclosing, then they may refrain from answering, or make the questioner understand that they are content with this small salary due to special circumstances.
