What is the ruling on one who exaggerates the mention of his previous salary to his new workplace under the pretext of taking his right and his true value in the labor market?

What this person did by informing the new employer of an incorrect salary to receive a higher one involves two prohibitions: First: Forbidden lying, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Hellfire." And his saying: "The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies." Second: Taking money unjustly, for if he had told the truth, he would not have been given this salary. His excuse that he deserves a higher salary does not justify lying, for it is only permitted in three situations: war, reconciling between people, and a man's conversation with his wife. Therefore, he must tell the truth or remain silent; for truthfulness is salvation.
