The spouses must live together amicably. The man is the maintainer and protector of his household, and the wife's obedience to her husband is obligatory. What the mother is doing by preventing the father from entering his home is an injustice and a forbidden act. The mother must be advised, and it must be explained to her that her action is forbidden. There is no obedience to her in this matter; rather, the door must be opened for the father even against her will, and effort must be made to prevent her from repeating this act. The husband must be respected as the maintainer and protector of the household, and the father has the right to discipline his wife. If she persists in ill-treatment, then there is no good for him in keeping her.
