What is your guidance for someone who faces difficulty in understanding and memorizing, and a weakness in proficiency in Fiqh, despite his intense love for it and being an Imam of a mosque, and spending most of his time studying via computer in a city where scholars are unavailable? And is it advisable for him to change his specialization or job, or to content himself with preaching without issuing fatwas?

The fundamental principle is to complete good deeds, especially the pursuit of Islamic knowledge such as Fiqh (jurisprudence). Difficulty in understanding and slow memorization can be remedied through patience, perseverance, extensive reading, seeking Allah's help, and gradual learning, starting with concise books, like the methodology of Ibn Qudamah and Al-Ghazali. If, after that, it remains difficult, then delve into another field, for the Islamic sciences are diverse. Preaching, delivering sermons, and giving fatwas are ways to draw closer to Allah, provided one avoids speaking about what they do not know, and ijtihad (independent reasoning) is divisible; whoever learns one issue is knowledgeable in it.
